Mrs. Angela Leyse serves as a nursing instructor for the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus of ECTC. She joined the ECTC team in October of 2008 as an adjunct instructor in the allied health program teaching classes on both the Fitzgerald and Douglas campuses in Patient Care Assisting and Medical Terminology.

Mrs. Leyse graduated with an Associate of Science degree in nursing from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in 1985. She has been teaching in-services to health care staff in a variety of health settings for 20 years. Mrs. Leyse has spent the last 22 years working in various positions in the home care sector of nursing. Positions held have been from the ground up including staff nurse, staffing coordinator, in-service coordinator, branch manager, and assistant administrator for a five-branch operation. Mrs. Leyse helped write policy and procedures for two personal care homes, one adult day care, and one private home care company. She is the founder of AngelCare Private Home Care, Inc., a local home care company serving the needs of the elderly in Ben Hill and Irwin Counties.

Mrs. Leyse is involved in many local community activities. She has served on the local and district boards of Boy Scouts of America and was the first female selected to serve on the local Eagle Board. Mrs. Leyse has mentored more than ten boy scouts to the rank of Eagle. She is the assistant softball coach for the Ben Hill Middle School and has been selected as an All-Star Coach for the past 4 years. Mrs. Leyse is the past recipient of the Junior Woman’s Club outstanding Old Member and Member of the Year award. As president of Ben Hill division of the American Cancer Society, the unit received the outstanding unit award. Mrs. Leyse serves on the Ben Hill School System SACS Parent Board and is trained as a mentor in the local CIS program.
