Program Description

The Automotive Suspension and Steering Technician certificate program provides students with the skills needed to enter the automotive industry as suspension and steering entry-level technicians. Local industry needs properly trained personnel in order to implement repair services for the new technologies in suspension and steering systems. The program presents vehicle chassis types, chassis components, steering and suspension systems, steering and suspension operation, design, service, repair, alignment, and problem solving. Program graduates will receive an Automotive Suspension and Steering Technician certificate and possess the qualifications of an Automotive Suspension and Steering Technician.

Length of Program

A minimum of 17 credit hours is required for program completion. A full-time student can complete the requirements for this certificate in one quarter. A part-time night student can complete this certificate in three quarters.

Campus Location

The AutomotiveSuspension and Steering Technician certificate is offered at the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus.

Entrance Requirements

Required Age: 16 years of age or older
Must hold a valid Georgia driver's license
Education: High School Diploma or GED
