Program Description

The Business Administrative Technology (BAT) program prepares students for employment in a variety of positions in today’s administrative and business fields. Program graduates are competent in office technology as well as in other areas required for success in a professional business office. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in the area of business office technology. Upon completion of the word processing class, students will take the Microsoft Certification Exam to achieve their Microsoft Office Specialist certification. This certification, which is industry-recognized, proves their competence in using the Microsoft computer programs. Graduates of the program receive a Business Administrative Technology diploma with a specialization in Business Administrative Assistant.

Length of Program

A total of 74 credit hours is required for graduation. A full-time student could expect to complete the program in five quarters.

The BAT diploma is offered quarterly on the Ben Hill-Irwin ane Coffee campuses and online

Employment Opportunities

Graduates from this program find employment in a variety of office positions such as administrative assistants, business office specialists, office managers, data entry specialists, software support specialists, and customer service representatives.

Salary Range

The average annual salary range for Business Administrative Technology graduates is $13,520 to $24,960. 

Personal Characteristics

To succeed in the BAT program and an office career, a person should enjoy computer applications programs, have the ability to multi-task, desire to work inside daily in an office environment, be able to spend long lengths of time at a desk, possess decision making skills, and have strong customer service skills.
