Program Description

The Game Programming degree is designed to provide students with training for employment in the software development field of game programming. Courses in the degree provide both classroom and hands-on learning in the areas of design, development, and programming of electronic games in Visual Basic and C++. Applications include online games, multiplayer gaming, game testing and deployment, and programming games. This degree will assist the student in pursuing higher degrees. Moreover, the languages used in the program will also allow students to obtain jobs as programmers in a non-related gaming environment including writing code for office and industrial applications.
 

Length of Program

The Gaming Technology degree requires 105 credit hours. A full-time student can expect to complete the program in six quarters.

Campus Location

The Gaming Technology degree is offered on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates of the Gaming Technology degree program are qualified for jobs in the game programming industry. Graduates will also have the knowledge and skils to obtain jobs as programmers in other industries where writing code is needed for office and industrial applications.

Entrance Requirements

Required Age: 16 years of age or older
Education: High School Diploma or GED Placement exam required. Proof of keyboarding competence required.
