Length of Program
A total of 18 credit hours is required for completion. A
full-time student could expect to complete the program in
two quarters; a part-time student in as little as three.
Campus Location
The Introduction to Corrections Technical Certificate is offered both on the Coffee and
Ben Hill-Irwin campuses.
Personal Characteristics
To succeed in the Introduction to Corrections certificate program and to obtain a career in the field, an individual must be able to work without direct supervision, make sound decisions, possess solid character and ethics, demonstrate initiative, and possess the ability to multi-task. They should also possess strong oral and written communication skills, and utilize good interpersonal relations skills.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates receive an Introduction to Corrections Technical Certificate. The skills learned will enhance any criminal justice field position dealing with corrections.
